Sober Housing & Clean Living for Men
Other proposals that provide services for residents in MassHousing-financed rental housing, specifically those that address alcohol and/or drug abuse or addiction, are also considered for funding. CCRI grant recipients must be 501c3 non-profit organizations and matching funds must be provided. All proposals and applicant qualifications are stringently reviewed and vetted by MassHousing. Minnesota sober living homes are currently not required to get licensed or certified in order to operate in the state.

During the inspection, MASH reviewers will assess your home’s physical condition, review documentation, and interview you and/or your peer leaders to ensure that policies are being implemented as written. You must attend the MASH Sober Housing 101 Training for Potential Operators before applying. Black Butterfly works with community corrections agents and service partners to recruit young women of color struggling with the pain of addiction, violence, and instability. Potential sisters must show a willingness to change their lives and contribute to the transformational culture of Black Butterfly’s home. Sober homes applying for annual recertification must remit payment of certification fees during the recertification process and prior to scheduling the home inspection. MASH partners with MassHousing’s CCRI initiative and the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) to certify homes and provide technical assistance, ensuring grantees meet high standards.
